Elizabeth C. Tosh

Biography

Elizabeth Tosh practices out of the Firm’s Tampa office. Her areas of practice include general liability, including wrongful death, personal injury, products liability, catastrophic injury and damages, dram shop liability, legal malpractice, auto negligence, premises liability, property damage defense, construction litigation and commercial litigation. She also handles appeals that result from the underlying litigation and has argued in the Florida District Court of Appeals. Prior to joining Zinober, Diana & Monteverde, P.A., Elizabeth was a partner at the largest insurance defense firm in Florida for many years, where she handled the above practice areas as well. She is admitted to practice in all state courts of Florida, The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. Ms. Tosh has many years of experience in handling litigation of all types, including trial experience and all matters leading up to trial. Elizabeth has experience in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit to the appeal process, in a variety of cases, including many with risk exposure in excess of policy limits and with catastrophic damages.

Ms. Tosh is a graduate of Flagler College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003. In May 2006, she graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. While in law school, Elizabeth was a legal writing and research teaching assistant for two years, a member of Moot Court and on the board of directors of Moot Court, participated in the mediation and arbitration clinic, and participated in regional and national moot court competitions. She also was a judicial intern for Hon. Jeffery J. Dywan of the Superior Court in Lake County, Indiana and was a judicial extern for the Lake County Indiana Prosecutor. In law school, Ms. Tosh was a member of Phi Delta Phi as well.

Ms. Tosh is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, past member of the Hillsborough Women’s Bar Association, and is a frequent volunteer for the HCBA Law Week, with activities that range from classroom speaking, Q & A sessions and skits with children about the legal profession, and she also frequently volunteers as a proctor for the Florida Bar exam. Ms. Tosh has presented before on trial skills at the HCBA Young Lawyers State Trial Court Seminar and has presented various presentations for past firm clients on various topics, including adjuster ethics and claim handling duties. In the past, Ms. Tosh has been active in engaging with local community organizations for service events and donations, including volunteering with Ronald McDonald House, Hillsborough County Schools Great American Teach-In, Habitat for Humanity, and Dress for Sucess. When not practicing, Ms. Tosh is heavily involved with animal rescue and holds multiple roles within St. Francis Society Animal Rescue of Tampa.
