Biography

Coleen M. Balkie, Esq. joined Zinober, Diana & Monteverde, P.A. in 2019 as an Associate in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. Coleen has experience representing insurance carriers in first- and third-party property defense litigation, premises liability claims, auto accidents and breach of contract. She currently focuses her practice on first- and third-party property defense litigation, construction defect litigation, and insurance fraud investigation and litigation.

Coleen earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montevallo and received a degree in Legal Assisting from Broward College. Coleen earned her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. While attending law school, Coleen was a member of the Student Bar Association representing the Evening Law Student Division, and clerked for a law firm handling first- and third-party insurance defense litigation, as well as insurance fraud investigation in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Bodily Injury coverage. Coleen is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Coleen is a South Florida native and enjoys spending time with family, friends and her four dogs. She also enjoys volunteering at her church in local service outreaches and short term mission trips to the Caribbean.
